Mac apps that span one wallpaper across displays
Most apps filed under multi monitor wallpapers put a different picture on each screen. Four spread one picture across all of them, which is a different thing, and this is how they compare.
The ones that span
Four you can still get and one you cannot. Of the four, one is a paid subscription, one runs in a browser rather than on your Mac, and one you compile yourself. Read down an app to weigh it, or across a row for the thing you care about.

What that leaves out
Multi Monitor Wallpaper is the only paid app still shipping that does this. It puts "a single fabulous image across all your monitors" and will "auto-space screens for real-world layout", which reads like gap compensation without naming it. Nothing on the listing settles whether it schedules by time of day or takes a separate Light and Dark image, which is why three of its cells are open.
Superpaper is the closest thing to this app and says so plainly: "bezel correction: let the image continuously span behind your bezels", plus pixel density correction across displays of different shapes. The catch is delivery. There is no Mac build in any release, the README still says "MacOS needs testing and packaging", and the last release was December 2022, so running it means compiling it.
Spanright is a web page rather than an app. It cuts your photograph per monitor, allows for the borders in millimetres, and hands you the files to set yourself. For a desk you arrange once it is the quickest route on this page, and it is the only one here with activity in 2026.
MultiScape spans, and its repository was archived with a last commit in April 2016. It is here because search results still carry it.
Fresco has a column for the same reason. It is the app older threads recommend as the free way to do this, and it has been withdrawn: its App Store page returns a 404 and an Apple lookup finds it in no storefront. Its row is open marks rather than ticks because with the listing gone there is nothing left to check a claim against.
Apps that put a different wallpaper on each screen
These come up in the same searches and are good at something else: filling several screens with several pictures. If that is what you are after, start here.
- Hologram Desktop
A wallpaper browser with desktop widgets. Its site and listing describe neither spanning nor multiple monitors. Last updated December 2022.
- iWallpaper
Live video wallpapers, where "each monitor has its own completely independent settings".
- Wallpaperer
Pulls top rated images from the subreddits you choose, and will "have different images on multiple monitors".
- Wallper
Live wallpapers, 14.99 USD once for three Macs. Its pricing page makes no spanning claim.
Where SpreadPaper is behind
It is not on the Mac App Store and has no paid signing certificate, so macOS warns you the first time and you allow it once by hand. The help page covers that in three steps. It also brings no pictures of its own: you supply the photograph, where Hologram Desktop and Wallpaperer hand you a library. And it wants macOS 15 Sequoia, which is a higher bar than anything else on this page.
